North Carolina
October 12, 2009
About two weeks ago I was flipping through Southern Living and I saw this whole article on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a scenic road that goes through the mountains in the Carolinas, Virginia on up. Words cannot describe how beautiful the scenery is on the parkway so I knew we had to go! So, we planned a very last minute trip to take the girls to Asheville, North Carolina to see the leaves change since that is definitely not something you see in San Antonio. It was hands down the best vacation we have been on. I am going to be posting pictures from our trip over several different post. Enjoy!

This is Sophie hiding from the food at quite possibly the worst bbq joint we have ever been to. I think in Texas we are spoiled by good bbq. We went to this place that was packed with people and had great reviews about the bbq. Well; we got our bbq which was cold yes COLD turkey and no bbq sauce to be found in the joint. They were known for their coleslaw which was really just a whole lot of mayonaise and cajun seasoning. YUCK!!!!! Loved North Carolina….but not the BBQ!

This was the super cute home up in the mountains that the girls and us had to ourselves. We had so much fun gathering leaves which we are drying to put on our Christmas tree this year!

The sunlight that would come through the trees was so beautiful!

Hey! I didn’t even know yall went on vacation. What a fun last-minute getaway! Those pictures are amazing and your family is darn cute! I miss you tons!!!
